Memorial Weekend!

Hey there!!

Drew and I have been busy!! We haven't left for our trip let. That will be on June 10th. What we have been doing is seeing as many friends and family possible. On Memorial Day weekend, we had a beautiful memorial for my brother, Kyle. We had buried his ashes in front of the cross that is at my parent's lake house. The same one Drew and I were married by. We also have a plaque on the cross and blue hydrangeas.

Planting the hydrangeas in Kyle's memory

It was a beautiful service and we had about 70 people there. Big thanks to everyone that helped, especially Durwood and Karen, who had it where they live and  did so much. I don't even know everything that they did. They were instrumental!! Cathy Lufkin (Drew's' mom) came down and helped out big time, making flower arrangements and signs, and doing dishes. Big thanks to Brittany Griffin for leading the music with her harp! It was incredibly beautiful!! Todd and Cythnia ( my cousin and Aunt) who just had been down from Ohio the week before for my Grandmother's funeral and then drove back for this. They were a huge help!!!

Breakfast done by John and Deborah Burroughs that morning before the service. It was so good. Thank you!!

Noelle looking at pictures of her dad and saying, "daddy".

Lisa (Kyle's wife) and their kiddos (Noelle and Ryan) had been in the south for a week before the service.
It was awesome having them!!  During the service , Noelle, got up to the harp and tried playing it.  Lots of family came and friends came  Tammy, Audrey, Max, Chels, Dan, and Jack. It meant so much for everyone to take time and come to support us through our grief. Cousins from the Jordan side and the Brown side came. It just really really meant a lot.

Lots of people talked and shared memories of Kyle, including my mom, dad and My granddaddy talked a lot about being with Kyle. We miss Kyle and still wonder why God took him so young when he has two beautiful kids and a lovely wife.

Boppa and Granddaddy loved that Jax and Noelle ate with them.

After the service, later on some of us went on a sunset boat ride. Jimmy and Brittany (cousins :)  )

Sunday was church on the river. This includes being on the boat while listening to a sermon.

We tried to duplicate a picture of Kyle. Kendal, Brittany, and me with Kyle's and Brittany's kids.   It didn't go all the well, or at least not with Ryan. But Noelle and Jax really had fun together.
Kind of distorted, but this is the picture we were trying to duplicate with the next generation.

Would be a great advertisement for Home Depot.

God Bless
