Fourth leg- Grayslake, IL

                  Not a bad drive

Saturday, yesterday, we woke up and drove north of Chicago to Libertyville/ Grayslake, IL where my friend from Saudi, Andrew lives. I was finally able to meet his beautiful wife, Amanda Rash. We ate breakfast for lunch at a great local place. I had red velvet coffee!! Delicious!

The Libertyville town festival was going on and we rode the Ferris wheel.

                  Andrew and Amanda

We had left the pups at the hotel, so we went back to grab them. Indepence Grove, a walking trail 30miles long, was literally across the street. We enjoyed a nice walked, but not 30 miles of it.

To our surprise,  when we jumped back into the car, I found a tick crawling on my pant leg!! I freaked out!! We then decied to check the dogs to see if any had landed on them. Guess what....15 ticks on Bobby !!! A couple crawling on all of us and we grew to a grand total of 26 ticks!  It was intense! We have now officially renamed Libertyville, IL to TICKVILLE, USA!  I had the honor of waking up to find one on my neck at 6:30 this morning.

Some of the ticks we pulled off Bobby

Right at the end of our tick adventure... If you will. A lady needed help with jump starting her car. We had bought a booster battery pack for this trip. So happy we could help her out.

Swimming was in the cards after that. The pool was awesome with slides that you took rafts down. It was like a small water park. We did the adults slides, but Andrew wanted a picture down the kiddy slide.
Drew sliding and Andrew excited about his turn.
I snapped the camara too late.
                      Amanda's go!
                  Great idea Andrew!
The pool also had a rock climbing wall. Lots to do!
Andrew and Amanda outside their apartment complex. The cool thing is ... It is a converted barn. The apartment was loft style and oh so cool!
Ohhhh the deep dish pizza we had!! It was amazing ! Andrew and Amanda showed us a Chicago classic deep dish.
They were very accommodating to Drew, who wanted to watch the second game of the Stanley Cup Finals, so we ate in our hotel room.
Bruins won in overtime!! That made the hubs oh so excited!!

Watching the game. The picture is dark, but can you see YoYo? He was cuddlin' . What he does best. Bobby got up there after this was taken. They loved Andrew and Amanda.

It was awesome seeing an old and great friend. Thanks for the great day! Next time we will go to church with y'all. Sorry we missed it!

On to Prior Lake outside of Minneapolis!

Blogging on my phone, on the road again.....
